At least if the poems were left as the paperback book of across the sky and we’re themselves untouched in future, that way I could ignore the ugly accent she tends to put on to make her sound more intellectual and the lack of feeling she seems to have for her own words.

There isn’t one since she is the one who thinks herself a genius suar her or research her career and more you’ll see what I mean. This is understandable, as they were all written between the ages of 13 and 18, which is quite young. Her poems show a spark of that gothic-ethereal vibe that’s present in her songs, but not always. Nov 13, Raven rated it it was amazing. And of course, poetry is so subjective, what I think is immature and cheesy might be what someone else finds beautiful, and vice versa. So many lies about dates of releases, events in her life and stupid things like saying she was burgled so shipping out releases was delayed and then there’s the audio book fiasco.

Jun 19, Ashley Clark rated it it was amazing. Return to Book Page. Some of the poems, not surprisingly given the author’s career, could very easily be songs, and I had to read aloud to stop myself from singing in my head.

The whole performance of the poetry in this is also forced and dry. Still very poor literature accompanied by nice sounds.

Reading all those poems were e,ilie reading lyrics to Emilie Autumn songs. Although she has done very well acting in the devils carnival movies so applause to her for finding another strength. I think this is a definite must for all EA fans, and for poetry enthusiasts. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read. But, you know, why not?

I downloaded the ebook so yeaa. Apr 06, Tim McNeil rated it it was amazing.

Everything feels false with her, robotic almost, there is never any emotion and I guess it doesn’t help that the author is a severely dishonest individual. The music is also boring that accompanies the words, all the same chords, different sequence, and all the same sounds. In this release more releasepublished when Emilie was twenty-eight it’s no youe that she was autmun born inas Emily Autumn Fritzgesthe new poetry seems just as lacking with originality as to be high schoolish dribble, very tedious, very boring.

I don’t like to “judge” poetry, especially some written with such personal intentions, which a lot of this is.

Her obsession with wanting to be British is suts cringe worthy. The ballads and not-really-sonnets I largely disliked, mainly due to their rambling and yes, slightly pretentious nature. As an EA fan, it’s interesting to read her poetry and see how her lyrics and style have developed.

A fellow fan who incidentally also gave this book a two out of five star rating told me that they thought I might like some of these. Apr 15, Emm – Stories for Ghouls rated it really liked it Recommends it for: I particularly enjoyed the ‘Blackbird Sonnets’, but then, I am a sucker for mini-series of poetry.

I only liked “Ghost” but Enchant her debut in is still definitely her best work. Entertaining, profound, strange at times, but not left an indifferent reader.

Other than that, I don’t really think that you’d be that interested. If she went back to the Enchant ways and made a book that was more fantasy focused with the fairy focus she used to have I would love it.

The ones about regret were the strongest in my opinion. Since its fully-illustrated first edition hardcover release inThe Asylum Upon the release of her Shakespearean-themed concept album, Opheliac, Emilie sitz herself an overnight star in Germany’s industrial rock scene, and began touring extensively.

Would recommend to Autumn fans definitely, and casual fans of gothic arts and poetry. Many people like British culture but they don’t insult us with their sycophant wanting to be us. My favourite poem of the whole lot was On Artistic Integrity ; as an amateur writer who has been writing creatively ever since she was old enough to pick up a pen, this poem spoke to me on so many levels.
