This text is an impressively comprehensive overview. What has taken place ultimately results in the interpretation by the writer. It shows very nicely how psychology was once inseparable from philosophy and how it took a long time before the field stood out as a separate discipline.

Did not like at the beginning hixtory the book where italked about the philosophy section. I read this textbook cover-to-cover, even though it wasn’t required for the class I bought it for.
I had to read it for histogy lesson, and although I liked some parts, it was mostly philosophy, so yeah! Hergenhahn shows you that most of the concerns of contemporary psychologists are manifestations of themes that have been part of psychology for hundreds–or even thousands–of years. The book was pretty much an easy read. The topics are incredibly far reaching that the subject seems to be in danger of disintegrating — but it then it already has e. It is an acceptable book, but like any book it has to be taken with a grain of salt as to the interpretation. This is one of the better books covering the History introductiion Psychology.
